Bodiam Castle 3D anaglyphs
The picture perfect Bodiam Castle now in 3D anaglyph. Built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge Bodiam Castle in East Sussex fulfills everyones image of a perfect castle. A tower at every corner, drawbridge, portcullis and a moat, it's all there!
Sir Edward himself did not live very long to enjoy his wonderful building. The ruin we see today is the result of Parliamentarian troops dismantling the fortress, (slighting), after the Civil War to prevent its use by uprising Royalist supporters. Its is believed that this occasion was also the last time the portcullis was raised.
The walls of the castle are actually relatively thin and the large outside windows especially on the chapel indicate that the castle was not as defensible as others. However, the image is strong and this alone could have been enough to deter prospective beseigers.
Now in the protection of the National Trust Bodiam Castle represents a great day out.
To enjoy these images you will need a pair of red/cyan(blue), 3d glasses. Ensure the red lens is over the left eye.
