Westenhanger Castle
This is a series of stereocards taken with a Pentax Beam Splitter fitted to a Nikon D7100 that I took at Westenhanger Castle. Westenhanger Castle is in Kent adjacent to the former Folkestone Race Course and is a fortified manor house that has links back to King Canute who owned the estate in 1035. The present castle ruins date most probably from the 14th century and incorporate a later manor house which was expertly grafted into the original walls.
Westenhanger Castle 6.

The remains of the gatehouse. Although much ruined the elaborate gatehouse passage defences can be detected here. There was a drawbridge and portcullis grooves.
