This was basically having fun with Photoshop 5 LE and a digital homage to my earlier Somewhere Over England 1945. The various components were taken at the 1991 Shepway Festival, Lydd airport and a sky photographed from my back garden! If you attempt this kind of image be aware that there will always be 'experts' who will scan them closely for mistakes. The main aircraft is the famous Boeing B17 Flying Fortress Sally B which also appeared as Memphis Belle in the classic film of the same name.
