The Folkestone Harbour branch was closed in 2009. During its history WW1 soldiers bound for the trenches travelled down this line and in happier times the famous Golden Arrow and Orient Express trains ran along these rails. Tangmere marked the beginning of the end of the line with just Oliver Cromwell to bring down the curtain in March.
