Medieval Churches on Romney Marsh
Romney Marsh in south Kent is an ancient place full of history and mystery. An enduring feature of this landscape are the medieval churches many of which will accomodate a larger congregation than the immediate surrounding population.
St Clement's Church, Old Romney
St. Clement's Church, Old Romney dates from the 12th century although there is evidence of an earlier building. This is a different view of the church as many photographers portray this church from the side facing the A259 road where the church is framed by an ancient and very large tree. The church starred in the Walt Disney film based on the Dr Syn stories by Russel Thorndyke.
